Default Rebuilding 340 for Brothers Duster

Hey, I'm going to help My brother put a 340 back into his 70 Duster this weekend! Can't wait, it's been sometime since I've worked on any car at all. I should have some pics by next week. Only part I might need help on is torquing the head studs. Any recommendations? ARP Studs on a 340 w/ iron heads!

Again, pics to follow next week!!

We'll be waiting to see those pics. The 340 head bolts should be torqued to 95 ft/lbs following the factory torque sequence.[sm=smiley23.gif]

Using a 7/16 ARP Stud w/ washers and everything, the machine shop told me to torque it to 135lbs. These are the "X" heads. The cam is huge in this car and uses a solid roller, with full roller rockers! We haven't had it to the track yet, but hopefully soon!

I'm gonna try and get the pics on tomorrow fer everyone to see. Unfortunatly we didn't have time to get my truck dirty!

But the car runs! My brother got his insurance cancelled once they found out he had a roll cage in the car, but he'll only be off for a couple days.

Yep, I checked a few different sources to make sure and they all said 95 ft/lbs.
