hmm

well do any of you street race like your just driving around and see a car thatmight be fast and try to race them

well i have a 98 dodge neon with k/n cold air, dc headers, performance exhaust (not sure of brand), a short shifter, performance spark plugs and cables
and i seem to be stomped by most all
but i have a70 pound speaker box in my trunk and usually have myfiance with me would weight make a huge differance

what other parts can i get for this that arent to spendy actually just tell me what you have on you neon you can if you have an older then 98 but i want to know about the 95-98 Dodge Neon Performance Parts

if your tired of getting stomped, i would suggest perhaps going with a turbo kit, it will give you a nice power boost. and while your speakers and fiance (i would be careful how you say this in her presence, it could be taken wrong) do add some weight, its not a HUGE difference. just please dont tell me you have a huge wing on your car, lol, or your the type i like to beat up on.
you got the basics down, I/H/E, but your gonna need more to beef up that sohc motor. you can also look into different pulley, clutch, cams, larger tb, but ya, a turbo kit w/ supporting mods would be a good way to go. another idea is an SRT swap, but its expensive and a lot of work.

and as always, i dont promote street racing. but i dounderstand the urge hits once in a while
also, once you get some more power flowing, youll probably need some better rubber

here is link on making a 1st gen quicker: https://dodgeforum.com/m_298810/tm.htm

and a little info from the faq sitcky:
Q: What engine upgrades should I do to my neon for more power?
A: First, you need to ask yourself if you want to go all motor or forced induction, like turbo or nitrous. If you want to go all motor the first mod’s are generally; Cold Air Intake (CAI), Underdrive Pulley (UDP), header, bigger throttle body (TB), better-flowing muffler, and performance PCM (Mopar or AF/x). After that you can get into cams, cam gears, pistons, and more. If you have an MTX, a cheap upgrade is the neon's ATX TB, which is 52mm as opposed to the 49mm MTX TB and also a DOHC muffler, if you have a SOHC engine.

If you would like to go forced induction, you have two options, turbo or nitrous. There is no supercharger kit for the neon. If you would like to go turbo, Hahn Racecraft sells kits for the neon ranging from $2300-$3000. If cheap and instant HP is what you want, then nitrous is your route…buy a kit and slap it on.

I find it a little fun to punch it when it the red light changes, and you know the other car is trying to beat you...but I havent done ANYTHING to my car, and I can still usually smoke emOf course, I don't try to go over the speed limit...because after all I want fun, not a ticket. But, I'm a girl in a tiny neon...and I'm smoking a young guy in a truck...or suv...or a sports car...I was on my way to school for the truck and sports car, suv on my way home from work. It's rather fun as long as you are safe though...and if you keep getting stomped, well I dont know what to tell ya...because my car has never been uped the anny for anything, and I do the smoking hehe.

Of course, I don't try to go over the speed limit.
You can still get a ticket for competition of speed, even if you don't brake the speed limit.

The cops dont really care about it where I am, because as long as you aren't speeding, they aren't going to waiste their time.

Boxer, if you noticed, they weren't driving a neon. It was a Nissan. A whole totally different car.
