IS IT POSSIBLE THAT AN INTAKE AND EXHAUST VALVE CAN BE PUT IN WRONG ? FOR EXAMPLE: EXHAUST VALVE INSTALLED ON INTAKE SIDE ?
WOULD THIS CAUSE A BAD TAPPING NOISE FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD?

No, it is not possible. They can only go in one way. I'd say it's either a lifter or your rockers. And just because it's running good now doe not mean they are good. I'd seriously pull it apart and take a look. Because in the long run you are doing more good than harm.

He wasn't totally wrong its really shouldn't have happened any machine shop worth anything should have known better then that, so you should be finding a different shop to get work done at.
Valves can be put in wrong. In your other thread you had asked if the rockers could be installed wrong. I actually didn't read your entire post because I just saw IS IT POSSIBLE and then saw that it was you so I had thought you were asking the same exact question.
