Default clean engine???

what do you guys use to keep your engine looking nice and clean.

I dont want it to get all dirty and nasty, but I do not want to mess it up with the wrong cleaner either.

thanks.

I usually use the brush to wash the car with to clean it out (at home) and I know it probably sounds silly but I use tire foam to keep the black shining. I don't know if it is flammable 'cause I use it when the engine is cool. Looks better than new. I even use the engine sprayer at the carwash and it works pretty good but you have to make sure you rinse it well or it will spot. Then use the tire foam. When I use Armor All or the like it doesn't look even so I stick with the tire foam.

Yup, "Gunk" has been around for years and has cleaned more engines than any other product. The thing to remember is to protect your electronics, meaning all the computers/sensors, terminals, etc......on a NEW car you may want to leave this to a detailer, unless you know what the heck you are doing....Armor-All is good for restoring the "black' parts in an engine, and it hasn't caught fire in my "hellbox" engine compartment on my SRT-4....

I may be a bit crazy but after I got the engine clean in my 95 I kept it clean just by wiping the engine down a bit with shoprags everytime I opened the hood. Usually never spent more then 5 mins and it seems to a damn good job of keeping **** clean.
