Default SRT-4 HEAD!!!!

I was told that the head from an srt-4 head will fit on the 2.0 dohc engine. I was wondering if anybody knows if the head will bolt up to the sohc engine. Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No, heads are not interchangeable between sohc and dohc. I am not sure about the srt-4 head working on the dohc, but I believe so.

Sure a DOHC head will fit on a SOHC block. I know a lot of guys who've swapped from DOHC to SOHC and vise versa.

However, I'm not sure about an SRT/4 head.

Don't ask me what I was reading I was thinking cam for some reason. I do know one thing though putting the srt-4 head on the sohc with the cam that in the srt-4 will porbally be a little hard to run with being such an aggresive cam, thats if it fits.

If it does fit I'm sure it's no different than running a Crane 14 on a stock SOHC. It'll run real rough.

what do you mean when you say real rough? and i have a problem with my tranny i think. every time i accelerate hard from the take off it feels like my cars tires are gripping the ground and making the car shake. does anybody have or ever had this problem?

I really hope thats not hop you are talking about. If so get better tires. I am almost positive what was meant was a rougher idle and cam.

is a rougher idle bad on 4-cylinders? I grew up around hot rods and rough idles were pretty cool. will the srt-4 cam hurt my car or will it just make it sound louder?

It just sounds cool. I have to admit a sohc running a crane #14 has to be one of the coolest idles I have heard next to our chevy sb race engines of course.
