Default NEON Engine Swap 2001 2.0 SOHC into a 1997 Car

I swapped a 2001 2.0 SOHC into a 1997 car that hada 2.0 SOHC motor and I can not get engine to start, it misfires. Do I need to swapthe 2001 PMC also or can I get away with 1997 controller? The 1997 engine had the crank timing sensor on the rear of the engine and the 2001 sensor is in the front, under the starter. Will this change the timing? I'mgetting error code #43. I have gone to several car dealers and no one thereknow how to fix the problem. Doesanyone have any ideas? [/align]

You use the 97 PCM.

Can you get the "P" code for the code 43? This would help narrow down your problem.

I when out and purchased a generic trouble code readed from Harbor Freight and the error message I get is 0351. According to the user manual this means " Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Malfunction". Will this help?

Looks like you either have a bad coil[/b] pack or the plug/wiring into the coil[/b] pack has a problem. With the car idling wiggle the plug to the coil[/b] pack and also the wiring and see if it stalls If so you have found your problem.

I replaced the coil pack and plug wires and now I get error code P1391.I replaced both cam & crank sensors. I had tolengthen the crank sensor wire because the sensor on the newer motor has the sensor near the starter not the oil filter and I retested it. Now it still could be a wiring problem but here is a question I have. When I went to the part dept. to get a crank sensor they gave me the same part as the one in the 97 engineand told me that was the only part that will fit a 2001 engine and the cost was about $100.00. SoI went to a Dodge dealer and he told me the same thing but he was able to lookup the same part that I had in the 2001 engine. This part cost me only$15.00 from the dealer. He said the part was for a 2004 engine. The question I have could the smaller sensor the one on the right put out less voltage then the one the left causing error P1391? The one on the right is for the new engine the one on the left is the 97 engine.
