Default Dodge Neon Computer Upgrade Kits!

Does anybody have any idea how to Upgrade or if there is a way to upgrade the Computer module on a 1995 Dodge neon without sending computer to Jet labs. I can solder and have computer knowledge. Is it possible to be done ?

Yeah you can buy the mopar performance pcm or the AF/x pcm.

The mopar one is availble here:
http://www.modernperformance.com/dcx/mopar_pcm.shtml

and the af/x is availble here:
http://www.howellautomotive.com/Howe...ath=21_113_114

Hope this helps!

I don't believe they change the chips inside, I believe they "flash" them to just change they information stored on them. The easiest way do do it is to just buy the mopar or AFX PCMs. If I rember correctly they are 2 hundred and change.

the mopar from modern is 199.99 for 95 I belive, and the AF/X from Howell is 300+250 core charge (so when you send them your core you'll get that 250 back) thats just a guess but I know it is about 500 to start, some of which you get back.

What I've read is that the mopar is good if your only doing light bolt ons and the af/x race is better if your going to be getting into the motor to free up flow (headwork, cams, intakes blah blah) this is just what I've read not seen/experianced.

SCC used a DOHC ECU on their 99 SOHC claiming good gains under the peak power but a loss of I belive 6 HP at max (they claim that there was greater acceleration/throttle response) they also said that the ECU gave them the best gains. what I cant get past is that they did an underdrive pully to gain 1hp *yippie* and then also went with the AEM intake over the iceman (someone didnt do any research[>:]

like I said I dont have any personal experiance and this is just what I have read.

either of the pcms are worth the money the af/x has a bit wilder timing curve but other then that you probably wouldn't notice to much of a difference between the two. The are probably one of the best mods next to a camshaft of course.
