Default Question about engine swaps for a 95 neon

Hey guys i have a 95 dodge neon SOHC, got it real cheap and i want to put a better motor in it and throw a turbo on it. My question is, what motors will fit as a direct replacement and what would be a good motor to swap in? Would it be better for me just to get the DOHC version of my current year? Thanks.

2.4 Is about the best engine you can get to swap in. YOu can get them out of PT Cruisers, Stratuses.

Just build the sohc thats the cheapest route. You can get all the power you will ever want out of the motor you have so why swap?

In my opinion the sohc is the best motor. you can put the 2.4 in, but its a lot of work. I believe the hahns racecraft stage 3 turbo will pull 400hp, if you need more than that in a neon, you might wanna consider another car.

With stock internals you will see no more then 300hp no matter the turbo kit (you might see more but you won't for long). But once you do a complete build (forged internals, balancing, blueprinting, porting, polishing, and anything else you can think of) and a get full standalone fuel management the skys the limit.

I agree with the internal upgrades. I am just saying it is possible to pull a lot of HP out of the motor. As has been said a thousand times HP= money!!!!!

Yeah HP does equal money but for some reason HP comes cheap for neons. I wish parts for altimas were even close to the price of parts for neons.
