Default msd ignition

Does the msd ignition change the timing at all? And will it give me better exceleration? Or am i better off just getting better plug wires?

as far as I know the MSD is no better than the stock and the only reason to replace is looks or a broken stock one.

Are you talking about an ignition system such as an MSD DIS 2? or a coil pack?

I was talking ignition coil, the system is worth it, if you are that far with performance.

Umm no it isn't. An ignition coil especially the MSD one is no different than stock with the exception of it being red.

Now an MSD DIS 2 is worth it. Especially if you drag race.

The MSD coil is made with far better material and better windings, but the output is the exact same as the stock factory coil. The MSD Super Conductor wires are hundreds of times better than the stock plug wires. The shorter #2 & #3 stock wires have around 2,000-2,500 ohms resistance and the longer #1 & #4 stock wires have 3,000-3,500 ohms resistance. The MSD's have less than 50 ohms per foot of resistance and the longer #1 & #4 wires are not even a foot long, so the MSD wires for #1 & #4 are only around 30-40 ohms resistance and the shorter #2 & #3 MSD wires are only 20-25 ohms resistance. The MSD wires will give you a spark that is hundreds of times stronger than stock. You will also notice that with the MSD wires your car will run smoother, it will be far more responsive and the MSD wires will also make your cars exhaust meaner and louder believe it or not.
