Default Tie-Rods?

Hey guys, my Neon seems really loose in the front end. It shakes violently from 70-80 MPH and at 20 and 40. Also when driving over bumps a metallic clunk comes from the front end of the car. Does this sound like broken or damaged tie-rods? Also how hard is it to replace them? Thanks in Advance.

You could also have blown struts. There are a lot of things to go wrong on the suspension side of the car.

What I'd suggest is having it aligned. Sometimes the shakes are caused by the car being out of alignment. You could also have all teh suspension bushings replaced as well.

Thanks Squee, I'm putting on my winter tires this weekend anyways so I'm going to take a look at the tie-rods. I was suspiscious because my parents 2002 Neon had the same symptoms and when it was in for serviceing they found that the tie-rods were broken. So naturally I figured it would be the same for my car. Thanks for the input.
