Default Took my battery out....

So when I installed my new bushings the other day I had to take my battery out. I would imagine I had the battery out for an hour, maybe an hour and a half. However when I put it back in and started it up, it still remembered my preset radio stations, but did not remember the time. All I have to say is WTF. Shouldn't it have forgotten both?

I would have to say yes, but I have an alpine and it seems like if I take it off for a minute I lose everything. Maybe your stereo has internal battery, like computer battery. But never really heard of that,

So would I because I had it out for over an hour easy. That should of been enough time for it lose power and forget it. And it was a little harder to start up than normal when I put it back in so I know the power leaked out.

The stock radio and some aftermarket radios do have a memory.

You however are the first person I've ever heard of that has not had things erased.

Yeah, but I don't understand how it still had my presets, but not the time. It just doesn't make sense to me.

if you have a stereo system and put a capacitor on it, it will do that, I only know this cuz i was trying to reset my pcm, but my cap had enough of a charge to maintain the system memory..... Weird ain't it. Still doesn't explain why you lost time and not stations.

Its not stange at all a Capacitor is a small quick discharge battery. Thats why if you are going to work on your car and it has a cap, you turn on the interior light for a minute before you disconnect the cables or you disconnect the cap otherwise you can do damage to your electrical system. It is weird that it remembered the presets and not the time though.
