my frustration With the discontinuation of the Neon
[>:]am i the only one who believes the neon should not have been discontinued? i mean in the first generation alone, it has been well documented that a ton of work went into just the manufactoring process with "checkerboard squares" and training at CTC. not only this, one car built at one plant for 12 model years, something that is unheared of especially with the production numbers that came with the neon, some very special things happened with the neon, to my knowledge such things
Last Plymouth Built
First SRT Model Built
One plant consistently running two shifts for over a decade
why did they discontinue the Neon...sales were still strong
i just don't understand it, and it was replaced by the Caliber...i'm not knocking something i haven't driven yet, but i have been in a compass, it wasn't anything to brag about.
i'm only 19, and i am a very passionate MOPAR/Chrylser Fan, and i love my Neon.
just wanted to know if anyone else was frustrated by this
Thx

LOL!
Oh well... what's done is done.
Hopefully, if the the Caliber gets the huge slump in sales... which WILL HAPPEN, they will bring a newer neon out... hopefully.
I still think the "don't mess with a good thing" should NOT have been tampered with. Giant fish in bear suits might terrorize the country side for breaking such a motto!

guys on another forum...1gn.org r saying it will never happen due to all the problems with the neon...i.e. why second gen sales sucked in comparison to first
and really was it daimler that made the call or chrysler...or both?

RE: my frustration With the discontinuation of the Neon
The reason they got rid of the neon is because they couldn't compete with the compact car division. The corolla and civic were killing everyone, so Chrysler jumped to the small suv or I think they are calling it the crossover or something. I hated to see the neon go also, when it went, my job went with it.
