Default my frustration With the discontinuation of the Neon

[>:]am i the only one who believes the neon should not have been discontinued? i mean in the first generation alone, it has been well documented that a ton of work went into just the manufactoring process with "checkerboard squares" and training at CTC. not only this, one car built at one plant for 12 model years, something that is unheared of especially with the production numbers that came with the neon, some very special things happened with the neon, to my knowledge such things
Last Plymouth Built
First SRT Model Built
One plant consistently running two shifts for over a decade

why did they discontinue the Neon...sales were still strong
i just don't understand it, and it was replaced by the Caliber...i'm not knocking something i haven't driven yet, but i have been in a compass, it wasn't anything to brag about.
i'm only 19, and i am a very passionate MOPAR/Chrylser Fan, and i love my Neon.
just wanted to know if anyone else was frustrated by this
Thx

um, yeah.

i hate the caliber.. it looks good, but thats it. i drove one for 1500 miles this summer and hated it. i was in the market for a new dodge car...... but the neon replacement sucked so bad that i had to buy a used 2005 sxt.

LOL!

Oh well... what's done is done.

Hopefully, if the the Caliber gets the huge slump in sales... which WILL HAPPEN, they will bring a newer neon out... hopefully.

I still think the "don't mess with a good thing" should NOT have been tampered with. Giant fish in bear suits might terrorize the country side for breaking such a motto!

i was Pissed bout them ending the neon and bringing the caliber in. i wanted to go and burn all the calibers so they couldnt sell them lol or go in road rage and take em out with a well reinforced neon. How do u like that caliber, neons will always kill you.

They're a bunch of morons. The only reason the Neon got a bad reputation was because of the problems with the 1st Gen (head gasket, poor paint quality, etc). Then Chrysler never managed to promote the improved Neon after these problems were fixed, thus everyone continued to beleive the Neon was a mechanical failure even after the introduction of the 2nd Gen. But the Neon wont be coming back any time soon...perhaps a real replacement of the Neon will debut eventually, but it wont be called the Neon.

The reason they got rid of the neon is because they couldn't compete with the compact car division. The corolla and civic were killing everyone, so Chrysler jumped to the small suv or I think they are calling it the crossover or something. I hated to see the neon go also, when it went, my job went with it.
