Although I typically Idon't purchase extended warrenties,I doconsider the length of the factory warrenty when making a new purchase. An extened warrenty is a good idea if the item is going to be"abused" by heavy use.
ya man.. we all learn..
I was 17 bought my 01 neon (3 years ago in 2005) for 7kcdn with 90k kms on it.. Its a great car.. not many issues other than regular maitence and a few things that i caused to the car.. Looking back now i wish i had of went with a skyline or 240sx or a 1st gen neon (saved my *** a bit on insurance and easier to modify..note i am paying over 300/month for insurance fully licensed with a few discounts).. I really wish i went with a 5 speed.. I could have sold me car last summer for 6k (im retarded for not doing it but needed it and still wasn't 100% if i wanted to join the 5-speed world)..
Learnt a few lessons.. wont let it happen again.. I fully own my car (all paid off) which is good cuz i owe 15k in student loans and a few more grand to my parents and other people who helped me out while i was at school..
The neon will last me as long as i take care of it.. And when it does die on me depending on costs of insurance i may pickup an srt4 or skyline at that time.. or may even save money and get the swap done into my car..
Lessons learned!!

Dude- you got a near-new car that's VERY upgradeable & you're upset about it? Come on now.
My first car was a 1990 Mazda beater that died after 2 days. And I'm sorry but I'll take a Neon over a Honda ANY day. Buying new is such a rip anyway. Buying ANY car from a dealership is a rip.
The last time I bought a car from a big name dealership I ended up with over $6k worth of 'fees' on top of the $19k sticker price. This was for my SRT4 2 years ago. I got ripped royally. I think they thought since I'm a girl that they could get away with outright LYING to me about the car. I had to find out via the people on SRTforums who knew the previous owner that the entire engine had been replaced, and that the D-bag had voided the warranty by doing all sorts of retarded crap to it. The dealership tacked on an additional $2k warranty which they later refused to honor once the car started falling apart. Unbelievable. I'm currently trying to get the warranty money back & I'm about to sic my lawyer on them cause they have 'no record' of ever charging me for it! How convenient.
After I wrecked that car in December(NOT on purpose), I bought an 04 SXT from a buy here pay here lot on 2-29 for $10k & I'm very happy with it. It's got about 75k miles on it which is NOTHING for these cars(I know a 95 Neon that's an SCCA racecar, stock engine, with over 300k miles), and it runs beautifully. Kinda smells funny on the inside though, lol... It needs a $100 PCM reflashing which the dealer is paying for, and I have a FREE 1 year warranty.

i got my car for 8,500 brand new... looked on kbb.com and lonestar dodge. they messed up on the add $8500 for 1mile on it so it was a typo but i had a printout of it to show what they advertised... then made up a story that usaa would finanace for 7.5% and they agreed after an hour of debates... so i took it home that night
