Are you refering to the Dodge Neon car being illegal or the lights/Neons that are installed on cars ( usually on the under carriage) being illegal?

yes, the underbody neons. i just bought some, and on the wiring instructions, it shows a ground coming from the switch, but it doesn't have a ground wire coming from it, and it didn't give me one either? do u have to have a ground wire for it to work?

 

also, it says the red wire is positive and black is negative, but the wires are all black, and black and white, so is the black and white positive?

 

The one with the stripe should be positive

 

Check your local laws. In most states neons are illegal to drive with on.

 

yeah it illegal here to drive with them on.

 

Yeah most states they are illegal to drive with the actual lights on but you can have them on your car so when you stop to hang out you can turn the actual lights on

I was talking to a police officer around here and he said they are only illegal if u can see the bulb.. i don't know what its like in other states.. my guess is depends wether the cop is a dick or not....
