Default CAI Question??

I found a K&N typhoon cold air intake on a web site for $189.99. Are these intakes any good and are they worth that much money?

The best intakes IMO are the iceman, AEM, and typhoon. they are all about the same.

There is a big difference between the cheap ebay short rams and a true CAI. You can find them on ebay, but they are few and far between.

Casper does that mean you think the ones off of ebay are junk. Cuz most of them seem it. from all of the ones i have looked up on different sites they seem pretty cheap.

there is nothing wrong with my short ram from ebay..... works great, sounds great, and most likely added some power to the engine. CAI is deffinatly better if ur willing to spend the money for one... i wasn't so i got a cheaper one that still does the same job.

I bought one from ebay once and it worked perfect, if u want to go with cold air u have 2 realize that u are more likly to suck in water and stuff too. I would go with AEM if i were u.

when u put a CAI they reccomend u but a bypass filter in between the 2 connecting pipes under the hood so when u suck up water in the bottom filter u got the other one to compensate and you won't lose any power or any thing.

Short rams are fine. The ones on ebay are ok, for a short ram. Me personally, if I am gonna do something, I am gonna go all the way, hence the CAI is the only choice. The bypass is not needed, my CAI is about 15" off the ground, you have to submerge it all the way to suck water. You would have to be an idiot to do that. The bypass valves do rob flow. there is no way you can put one on and not, they are not needed.
