Motor mount replacement story
So me and my dad were changing just one of my mounts because the other two haven't come in yet and I couldn't stand my engine twisting anymore. We put my car on ramps and used the jack and a couple pieces of wood on the oil pan. Well when we were underneth we were taking off the two bolts that hold the mount to the car, and all of a sudden the wood snapped...I saw my life flash in front of my eyes lol. Even though the two other mounts were there, I almost s**t my pants lol. All my dad did was laugh, HAHA funny lol. So he was taking the throgh bolt out and the second board snapped as he was taking it out, this time he didn't laugh he moved lol. I seriously thought I was going to die lol. So when we were putting the through bolt back in he told me to watch my body. He told me that when he was in high school an engine had dropped and his buddy just made it out lol. So when we saw my mount my dad showed...there was absolutly nothing left. 90,000 miles on those things and what a difference with the new mount and inserts. I don't have a pic of it but I can get one. Replacing the other 2 next week with a mopar bobble strut
so i guess they ain't hard to do. cuz i plan to do mine soon.do you guys know where i can get the set with the tranny mount. cuz the ones on summit sport don't come with tranny mount.
personally i would suggest getting some filled mounts from Deyeme Racing (www.deyemeracing.com) as the stock mounts will just tear soon anyways, so i feel if you are going to replace them, replace them with something that will last quite a bit longer and also give you a performance gain

im sorry but i think the prices on that are crazy... i would never buy any thing from there for that price.. i can get inserts just as good if not better for way less.

also, the vibrations caused by the mount inserts are the worst out of all the mount setups i have experienced so far, which is all setups other than full solid mounts.
if the prices are too high, then you might want to try to fill your own mounts. you can use some 3M windshield urethane, or even some hotglue. while cheap, and they do help, they have shown to not hold up quite as well as the Deyeme Filled mounts do.
or, have you looked into purchasing the refurbished mounts from deyeme? theyre a good bit cheaper, and you can send in your old mounts and get some $$ back from them...
all im replacing are the rubber inserts. the brackets are fine on mine as far as i know. but im not even sure if im going to do that cuz i don't have the money to spend on them. this car ain't for racing its just to get me around till i get my next car.

? you cant just replace the rubber on the inside of the mounts, you have to replace the whole mount...
i guess if you dont race, and dont plan on keeping the car very long, then yeah just replace with some oem mounts.

you can just replace the rubber inserts... but it will only work right if the mounts themselves aren't broke. which mine aren't. the rubber inside is just worn out causing it not to hold correctly. yes i know this isn't the proper way to do it for racing..... but my neon ain't a race car lol. i think we were both thinking of some thing different. and i didn't know he did the whole mount i thought he just did inserts.
heres the other topic we had going incase u didn't see it.

if you still think you want to opt for the inserts, do yourself a big favor and glue them in place when you put them in. this will help keep them from falling out of the "holes" they sit in. granted, the glue only will help keep them in place for a little while.. but it helps on keeping the mount intact for just that little bit longer.
