The exhaust tips won't do anything for your HP, but evidently they will make your car sound "better".

I did the same thing to my '69 VW Bug......took the stock tips off and ran "custom tips". No performance gain, but it sounded like a Porsche.....

The seller has 100% positive feedback, he should be safe to deal with............

meh.. i wouldnt buy them tips. you shouldnt have to rely on tips to change the sound of your exhaust.. so long as you choose the right muffler really.

other than that.. the yellow paint inside the tips will flake off and will open up the inside for invitation to rust. the "chrome" on the tips, on every car ive seen with pacesetter tips on them, aquire rust pits on the chrome surface over time.. sometimes as soon as 3 months of putting the tips on! (my pace****ter catback replacement tips did that)

so yeah, thats my opinion. but the choice in the end is still up to you of course

HAHa, I had a 72 bug. I made my sound more throaty by going through the desert and lost one of the pea shooters. Was quiet, then all of a sudden it was loud. I never found it so I just left it off. Sounded cool.

yeh if it turns out to be a problem i can always take it off. it won't be a big lose in cash cuz it only cost $8. the flowmaster muffler will give it a deep sound i doubt the tip will do any thing.

For that price, I'd go for it. I went with a 25" by 2.25" glasspack and then got a custom pipe from Monroe Muffler into a lighted afterburner tip that my friend gave me (and I still owe him $35 for that...). Makes a nice, deep, throaty, almost-but-not-quite ricey sound to it. I'd have to wager with the setup you're looking at, it'll sound pretty good. The tip will do something for it, not so much as make it throaty and deep as it will make it cackle off and sputter, which IMHO is a pretty neat effect.
