I will be racing my friend in two days. He has a Stock Saturn L300. 3.0L 6 Cylinder 182 hp 4 Speed Automatic.

Do I have a chance?! Please tell me I do!
I have an 03 SE, but I'm installing my CAI today or tomorrow. So I'll be at 145 hp when I race him.

Any advice or anything would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first race. Should I take out my spare tire when I race? Or will that not make a difference...

Saturn L300 .. 17.56 lbs per HP (automatic)

It will be a tight race if you have a manual, which I think you have. You might wanna take out every thing you can to be lighter, lol.

a 2003 SE producing 145 hp with just intake i dont think so try maybe 138 hp if your lucky....

My bad guys for thinkin I had that much power. I thought it gives 10 hp. Plus 3 from my exhaust.

I'm eventualy going to be buying a 60mm throttle body and an underdrive pully from Modern Performance. Do you guys think I'll finally be able to beat him once I get those 2 parts?

 

depends on the exhaust company and type including pipe size and for the cold air maybe 4 to 5 hp depending on air filter. Dont be like those civic ricers that think there civic have so much hp because of the cai and full exhaust and headers. No civic can have 160hp with that, not even the old si, of course the new would surpass because of the 160hp.
