I have a 2005 dodge neon sxt. Recently the driver side door speaker i can tell is blown and makes a rattling noise when turned to loud. Ive looked in the owners manual countless times trying to find the exact speakers the neon comes with but with no luck. I was just wondering this because with online websites where i can buy new speakers for my doors they all seem to ask if the neon has kicker audio installed.. I wouldnt doubt they are kicker speakers because of how good they have sounded for this long and bump pretty good with a aftermarket head unit.. But im just not sure, is there anyone who happens to know offhand what kind of speakers the neon comes with? This would be much appreciated and make it quite easier than taking my whole door panel off. Also i noticed on the 6 x 9's in the back have just a plug in to power them rather than the positive and negative plug in's that usually power speakers.. Im hoping that its not the same with the speakers up front when i purchase new speakers and have to install them.

 

You want the brand? Take the door panel off and check it out. Your gonna have to remove it any ways to replace the speakers.

 

Kicker systems came in the SRT's. Other than that, they are probably just some basic, generic speakers. I doubt they are some name brand ones. You can get a decent pair (better than stock anyways) for like $50.

 

i got some boss ones from walmart for around $30 and they sound and look awsome on the plug its just like the ones in the back you have to splice in to the wires after figureing out which one is pos and which one is neg or just cut the plug off like i did

 

So how am i going to be able to tell which wire is positive and which is negative on the plug connector for the speaker?

 

How to tell? With a wiring diagram.

RF Door Speaker- (+) is Violet and (-) is Dark Blue/Red
LF Door Speaker- (+) is Dark Green and (-) is Brown/Red

you have to remove the seat so you can remove the rear deck cover.
