I have a 03 dodge neon sxt I was driving and the car jerked hard and i slowed down and it was fine started accelerating again and it worked however when I stopped it wouldnt accelerate engine would roar but car didnt go. You could here something ratteling under the car. Car wont move while shifimg from park to drive you can feel it shift however it only goes 2mph what could be wrong

You should get the codes pulled. It'll tell you, and us, what is going wrong with the car.

 

So I put the car in nuteral and cant even push it back. Drive works at times but it sounds like an awful noise coming from the car

 

So I took my battery out and put it back in now my check engine light will flash before car is turned over but then shuts off

 

Well, it is now no longer possible to pull codes to tell you what the problem is. Best guess at this point is something wrong in the ignition/electrical side of things.

 

Would an electrical problem.cause it is not to accelerate. The car does.turn on just wont move

 

I misunderstood what you were saying then. Are you saying that if you turn the key to on and leave it there, the light will come on? It is supposed to do that, and then turn off when you start the car. It is a self-check by the car. As for the car not moving, it could be an electrical problem or a mechanical problem. It depends what's causing the problem. It could be a bad sensor or wiring, or it could be a mechanical problem. It's hard to say for sure over the internet without any codes. When you disconnect the battery and reset everything, it erases the codes. The codes will not come back until the car is driven again, which seems unlikely since it won't move.

 

P0340 just came on
