i have that exact problem as a matter of fact its so bad i have to leave my high beams on and the other ppl on the road cant tell the difference...so wich in all do anybody suggest new ones or crap load of elbow grease?
the best I can tell is that this isn't a film, but instead it's a deterioration of the plastic casing. The plastic itself is losing its sheen and the buffing/sanding/stripping is just getting rid of the dull outer finish.

Elbow greese or some new headlights thats the answer.

I'm just going to stick with the latter and be done with it. Hopefully the new lights won't have the same problem as the old stock lights. *knock on wood*
Are you sure it isn't on the inside also? I have a friend who's lights were green, he had little cracks in it and the moisture got inside causing the discoloration......
if this is the case, then new lights would be the answer, unless there were a way to split the light casing open to buff out the interior. Even if it were possible, I don't consider that worth my time. I'm going to stick with buying some nice quality lights, it's an improvement over the ones that come stock.
