Techniques for removing interior trim parts?
2005 Dodge Neon SXT
I'd like to take off a few interior trim parts for painting. I noticed the panels that have the window controls simply pop-off, so I'm wondering if this is a consistent technique with most of the interior parts. I'd like to remove the trim around the electronics console (forgive my lack of proper terms) where the fans and stereo is, but I'd hate to break it in he process.
Also, I'm curious if the dash is easy to remove. If requires special attention or is attached to too many things that will need to come off with it, i probably won't bother with it. Thanks for your patience and all of your help.

Hey now..Be nice.....
Yes the interior parts are easy to remove.
Take out your ashtray (if you have one). It just pops out by pushing the lever in the back down and pulling it down while you do so.
Then, there are four clips that allow you to just pull the center console cover off. You may want to remove your 4 center control ***** before you pull the cover off because if you don't they will come off with the cover and hit you (no damage to the parts, but "you could put your eye out" - Ha!).
The top cover of the dash (the big plastic panel that has your defrog vent and hole for your VIN code to show) literally has two clips in the front (one on each side) that allow you to easily pop them up and then pull the whole thing up and forward (to you) to remove it. Simple and easy.
Since you have electric windows, yes, the panel for it pops up and you just unplug it from the harness to remove it.
The door panels have little plastic clips that allow you to just slip a thin bladed screwdriver (or some other thin shim) under the edge and pull it up until they release. There are about 6 of them I believe all around the edge. Some will break (usually) but any parts store sells replacements for about $2.00 for a pack of 4. Just don't yank the crap out of it. Just pull it up slowly and firmly and slide your shim (screwdriver) close to the snap and then firmly but slowly pry it up, it will pop loose without too much effort.
