new bulbs and new fuze still no back up lights 4 cylinder automatic how hard is it to swap out the switch down by the motor

 

I am not similiar with 2nd gen ATX transmission but on the 1st gen there is a 3 wire plug. First you want to get out the multimeter and confirm its the switch. Here is the wiring for 1st gen possibly similar, maybe someone will chime in.

1 L1 20VT/BK REVERSE LAMP SENSE
2 T41 20BR/YL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH SENSE
3 F20 20WT FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START)
