Default 2002 Neon - Gauges stopped working, no interior light

Hi All,

I did do a search for this problem, but did not find all that i need...

we have an '02 Neon and last night the dash went blank, no gauges, no lights, no interior light.

I checked all of the fuses in the dash and under the hood and all are good. I did the cluster reset and no results at all .

I have read that there was a common issue with solder joints coming loose. but cannot find a current link to the procedure to fixing this.

any help, would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Default

not sure if it worth noting, but the step-son said that just before the dash went dead, the battery light came on...

hopefully, someone out there has an idea for me to check.

thanks

Default dask is working now

went outside a minute ago and for giggles, took the key and noticed that when i opened the door, the trip meter was lit and when i put the key in the ignition, the chiming started.. pushed in the trip button and turned the key to run and the dash came alive and all gauges went through their tests. also noticed that the interior light is working.

could this be a heat issue?? the gauges went dead when the car was being driven... I tried to diagnose it when it was still warm... this morning, it is about 6 degrees C.. and it lit up no problem...

thanks
