Default Dodge neon wont stay started

Just started happening the next day after driving it. As soon as i start the car it shuts off. If i press and hold the gas pedal it will stay started. As soon as i let go of it, the car shuts off again. What could this be? I live in cold Saskatchewan if that effects it

Have you performed the Dodge Key dance (on-off 3 times rapidly and then back to on to read the CEL blinks)? Any error codes?

Here are some cheap/free things you can try:

1) clean the TPS sensor
2) clean the IAC sensor
3) clean the MAP sensor
4) clean the EGR
5) check for vacuum leaks (especially into and out of the charcoal canister and into/out of the brake booster.

Hello, thanks for the reply
Code 55, no errors found

I Will clean the sensors tomorrow. Car is is not with me right now, trying to get prepared as there's no part stores where I am going.

Should I just buy a IAC instead of trying to clean it? This was my initial thought of the problem.

Also ill do a tune up as the car hasn't had one in 7 years. Not sure how its even still running.
Plugs
wires
air filter

Sounds like you have a cell going bad in your battery. These Dodges want to see at least a 12 volt charge in the battery or they won't idle. Have your battery load tested.

WOW! 7 years and no tuneups! You have a lot of stuff to do then! Belts, hoses too! You REALLY need to swap out the timing belt and water pump too along with all the other stuff that has been neglected for soooooooooo long! WOW! I have NEVER had that kind of luck with ANY car I have had! WOW!

Yes, while you are checking the battery as the other posted mentioned, you also need to load test the alternator too to make sure it is still doing it's job! WOW!

Edit, cleaned the plugs in the Throttle body.
Car is giving code
12(battery disconnected within 50 key cycles)
25 ( is this an issue? I sprayed carb cleaner to clean out the throttle.)
31 (this one ive no idea about, but im guessing its related)

So question is, code 31 is it a problem. and code 25 is this a problem,

Please when thinking about these codes, the above posts and my solution to fixing this problem.

thank you.

25 is 'idle engine speed not reached'
31 is 'right front wheel speed sensor faulty'

Neither of these will cause it not to idle. From the sounds of the mouse nest found inside the intake tube you may have sucked 'Mickey' into the intake.

I fixed the idle, Cleaned the mouse nest out of the air box and intake tube, And throttle body. Idles good now, just the code 31 and 25 is on now.

Whats going on.

also isn't code 31
(31 Evap purge flow monitor failure or evap solenoid circuit ) as seen on this site
