I need some info about an SRT-4 engine swap...
I'm am looking for information online about doing the SRT-4 engine into my 1g neon. I know I have to use their motor mounts, wire harness, and ECU. Does anybody know a website that gives information about doing it. Maybe someone else had done it and posted it online about it. I know how much the stage three runs for but how much does the engine cost 5-6 grand???
There is company that sell everything needed to do the swap for around $800. It includes the motor mounts wiring and everything. I will post it when I get home tonight, its on my other computer.
I priced the swap 1st and foremost they dont make an srt-4 engine for aftermarket at all not even an NOS (new old stock) it would cost over 10000 dollars to build the engine and the transmission is needed too. the head alone is 3000 dollars from the dealer. so if you added all stage three components it would be fairly pricey. Your best bet is to pull a motor from a wrecked srt-4 as I have been trying to do for a while now...and while I am waiting for one to pop up that I dont get outbid on for e-bay or car auctions I am just building my 2.0 and seeing as how they have been tuned for over ten years now they have been pushing Hp.s to over 500 hp which better then stage 3. So while your waiting I suggest you build yours like I am mine...chud.
Yeah I realize how much it's going to cost. I was looking at new and used. I like the price of used but I'd also like an enigne that hasn't been beaten on.

Well on Howell Automotive.com they have a bunch of kits for the SRT-4 but I can't find a head, unless I'm missing something lol...

I went to a local dodge dealer and they say they are the only company you would be able to get a motor from seeing as how my trusty source for motors said dodge does not manufacture the srt-4 blocks for purchase. Nor will they anytime soon unless if they are lucky to get it for the future evos that will be using the 2.4s instead of the 63t. My source at the dodge dealer called on every available part and did the math and when he told me the price of each piece I about fainted and he told me the head alone would be 3000... I even left emails w/ other dodge dealers and they say the same thing....look up your local dodge dealer's email and send a question about parts and you'll see.
Click Here. According to this website, its 344.25 unless they forgot a zero. And this is a dealer out in Rochester NY, so where you got the 3000 dollar price tag on the head is beyond me. I'm going to my dealer next week and I'll try and ask them about the cost on one to see if they give me a 3000 dollar price quote.
