Later that day i was driving down the street and my car got jumpy and then was stuck in first gear, engine code p0700, (which i know is the tcm) had that replaced three moths ago. i unhooked my battery for two hours, then took it for a test drive my gears had all returned, drove for ten minutes and problem returned. Have you had the alternator tested?
Have you tried to jump start the car again?

My neon had similar symptoms. Engine wouldn't even turn over, but all the accessories powered on no problem.

Turned out to be a corroded engine ground.
