I'm just wrapping up an engine swap and am trying to put the tansaxle into Park before I connect all the linkage. The shift lever can be easily moved through the four detente position 1, 2, D, and Neutral, but it won't go into reverse of park. The second lever (I'll call the lockout lever for lack of knowing what its real name is) I'm unable to move. I do not understand how this lockout feature works and thus I'm unable to put the unit into Park. Is it possible to shift the transaxle into park in this manner? What am I missing here?
