Default Wire-problem

Hi, I have a small problem...
My car won`t start, and the local shop don`t have a clue, so... I hope u can help.

The green/orange wire that goes between the ECM
and the coil is supposed to be connected at pin nr.6 in the ECM multiplug,
but I measure a connection not only in pin nr.6
but pin 4, 7, 8, 10, 13, 16, 17 and 20 aswell. Is that the way it should be,
or is it some sort of malfunction in the multiplug (shortcircuit)?

Eirik

edit: I forgot to say; the car is a 1996 2.0 with automatic transmission.

edit2: Have I posted in the wrong forum..? I didn`t notice the subforums. It`s been a while since last time I visited dodgeforum...

Default RE: Wire-problem

Here's the pinouts for a '96 PCM:

The Dark Green/orange wire feeds a ton of stuff. Power goes from the battery to the ASD relay, and from there to the coil, fuel injectors, O2 sensors, signal to the PCM, etc. The only one that I find odd is pin 8 (CEL driver)...

Power should always be supplied to the coil. Then the PCM grounds out each half, one at a time, to fire a pair of plugs.

So first, are you getting a CEL at all? Have you tried pulling codes? Have you checked for power at the connection going into the coilpack?
