Default Car Jerks

Have a 2005 SXT. While driving along the car just seems to shut off and restart in as long as it takes to blink your eyes. Very noticable jerk. ?????

Mileage? Maintenance history? Manual or automatic? Does it restart itself or do you have to start it? Had it scanned for codes? Did this just start happening? The more info you can provide, the easier it will be to help you

150,000 miles. Bought it in 2008 with 87,000 miles. Always ran good. Maintenance always kept up. Can't even say that it actually shuts off and restarts but that sure is what it feels like. Driving along 55 mph and this big jerk out of nowhere. Did not have it scanned for codes but check engine light or any other light does not come on. Automatic. Yes, this just started happening.

Could be a misfire. Caused by a bad plug, wire, vacuum leak, etc. Start with basic checks.
