Ok, **** it, now what to do....
ok, my dads just being a strait up jackass, i wanted to put a 2.4 in my 95 neon, and i even showed him how i could make it be cheaper then him rebuilding the 2.0, but hes just retarted, so, i have some questions since its obvios that im not going to get him to do the 2.4. Ok, what all should i get to hop up that 2.0? i know a turbo and nitrus, but are there other things i could get to hop up the HP? because i acctualy dont like neons strait from the factory, they are perty slow, and i wanna make it GO!
With all due honesty, perhaps learning how to spell/type along with less trashing of your father might gain you a little respect from the more knowledgeable members of this forum. We all have issues with our parents/relatives, but this really isn't the right place to vent your anger...cool off and ask some specific questions and you'll get plenty of help....
my dad dezerves to be trashed, when a parent promises something they better mean it. in the begining it was suposed to be like this, body kit, rims and tires, rebuilt engine, new interior, new paint job, and a few things like a cold air intake ect. and this was last summer, so during the summer i sat and took the thing apart, nothing left in it exept the steering wheel, so winter coes by, and we were supposed to start now in the spring, but now all he says hes gonna do is rebuild the engine, new tires, and new paint, thats it and hes tryen to tell me that if i want any of the other stuff that i have to pay for it. Now i wouldnt have a problem with this at all hadnt he said he was gonna do all the **** just last summer, its kinda like im being short changed and i have to make up for what i was shorted, and i think i was a bitch thing for him to do that. well anyway i just felt i should explain myself, but any suggestions help. thanks
Well as a father myself I can atteset to the fact that things come up like mortgage, utilities, life insurance, car insurance, groceries, kids activities(baseball, soccer, boy scouts whatever). You see, sometimes we promise things with good intentions and later they have to be compromised and we really don't have to explain ourselves to the people we are supporting, do we? When I left my 90K/year job last summer for a 6 mo. deployment that only paid 2K/mo some things at home had to be put off or just not done, thats just the way it is. You should understand better at your age what it means to provide all the things you take for granted-like the roof over your head or the meal whenever you are hungry. Try living on your own for 6 mo and see if your dad is such a bad guy. My parents never gave 1 single cent for any of my cars, I had to buy the car, fix the, insure the car and gas the car with my own paycheck---I think you are pretty lucky. Now if I don't see anymore Dad bashing for a week maybe I'll fill you in how to get some more HP out of the 2.0.

Only a week? I dunno, maybe 2 weeks is better. He seems pretty "hot" and auto accidents are the #1 killer of teens...the last thing the world needs is another pissed off teenager with a lot of power under his foot...but, to his credit, he IS at least talking about his problem...

Whoa. Is this kid for real? Don't be so ungrateful here. Sounds like a little adversity is just what you need.
I was in the Air Force and almost 20 when I got my first car, and drivers license. Don't rag your dad kid, there are things in this world a whole lot more important than your car.
Good Luck.

100% agreement on that! I was 16 when I bought my first car (1941 Oldsmobile) for $400 and I was working at nights at the Lackland AFB NCO Club as a busboy and a barback (The barback part was illegal since I was 16, but my dad was the Night Manager...)
I made a whole $1.35 an hour then (1967) and saved up enough money ($85) to buy a set of RETREADS....that was a major upgrade/mod...later did a top-end job on the engine, a flathead inline 6...piece of cake, the car only had 70,000 miles on it.
Nowdays, kids get new Hummers and Caddys and BMWs to take to college...Gee, I wonder why their sense of value isn't in line with ours????[sm=smiley22.gif]

You will need the Crane cam before you will yield any power improvements that are noticable. Then get the Indy intake manifold and a good header and cat-back exhaust. See if you can get him to bore the block and then get a stroker kit from Howell Automotive, and a ported and polished head. And there is plenty more you can do as well.[sm=smiley20.gif]
