Default Gas pedal problems...

My car has sat all winter long sense it was my sisters and she got a new jeep and i dont have my lisence just yet. But when we took it out to drive it the gas pedal seems to like kinda stick/hard to press to the floor or any further then about 1/4-1/2 throtle. Then when i get it past that point the pedal is really really really soft around that area while trying to hold a constant speed and every time i hit a small bump my foot bounces on the gas pedal causing the car to be a jerky ride b/c i am always giving it gas a letting off with out trying to. I dont know what else to say about it. I dont know if it is the pedal set up it's self inside the car or if it's the calbe running to the throtle body or what? i would really apriciate some help here. Thanks.

Check the pedal itself for smooth swiveling at it's pivot points, if there isn't anything catching then I would check out the cable. It would be easier with 2 people for this, so one could watch the cable/throttle movement while the other operates the pedal.

Yeah, my dad just told me to check the cable so some day soon me and my dad are going to check the piviot points and the cable and the opening mechinizim on the throtle body just to make sure. My guess is the cable but i'm not sure.

Well it's deffintaly the cable. I got the shroud off the tb where the cable connects, and i will open the throtle there to full throtle and at about 3/4 throtle you can hear/feel something kinda grinding and sticking, then let go of the throtle and the butterfly mechinizim snaped shut but then i heard/saw the cable snap back like a second later.

wow it seems like i'm talking to myself but i'm just trying to help people understand what is going on sorry... but i just figured out it's not the cable from the gas pedal to the throttle body... it's the other one that runs from the throttle to some metal peice then to the tranny maybe????? and i need to know what that does and if it should be replaced if thats the problem.
