Default What do you think

Well I'm going to have a couple days off from work coming up and I was going to of course work on my car (custom made CAI).[sm=smiley17.gif] I just want some opinions on this idea I have in mind. So I have the factory chrome wheels right now, but I'm planning on getting some gunmetal or hyperblack wheels later on down the road (either way they will be dark wheels). So I was planning on painting my brake calipers and some of the interior trim to break up the blandness. Remember I said some, I don't want it too flashy. I was thinking of doing all this in a color similar to the yellow the SXT comes in. I have a black car in case you don't know from my signature. Of course if I use a yellow for accent color that would probably be what color neons I would use as well when and if I get any. I've never really seen many use yellow, and I think it would go well with my all black car. Whatcha think, please give me your comments good or bad. LOL, but be nice.[sm=smiley17.gif]

That's what a friend of mine has been doing with his 1st gen. Neon, it's black with lots of yellow accenting. They go together well, like a big bee.

That would look cool. Good combo. Please show a pic when you get it done.

Mine is the electric blue. When I can I want to get the gunmetal rims. I don't like the chrome or silver look, Way too flashy. and in my engine compartment, what ever Aftermarket stuff I do in there I would like it to be red. and get the brake calipers red. Also the inside I was thinking of getting that kit for the manual shifter and pedals in red, and sit covers in red. But wasn't sure if I wanted to do that color, or just go with the blue inside. What do you all think?

Yeah, will try to get some pictures when I am done with it. I'm also getting the SRT4 short throw in about a month or so, I'm sure I'll get new pedals at some point. I was also thinking about some yellow and black seat covers, at least for the front two seats. Anyone know where to get a set of these at a good price? I've looked around a little bit and frankly the prices of most the ones I've found are not too far from brand new seats. Hmm...electric blue with red interior. Have you seen anyone with color combo like that. I just can't picture how the two would go together. I bet if done up right it would look sweet.

No I haven't seen anything like that. It is all in my head. The full interior won't be red. Like black and red. Like with the seats, the outter part will be black and the inner section will be red. And the shifter **** will be black and red. That is what I am invisioning.

Maybe I should use Solid Works and draw a 3d pic of it, can give me a good idea.

Yah, I would like to see a picture of it. That is basically what I'm thinking for my car but with yellow. I didn't get a chance to do any interior work since it was too hot and humid.[sm=smiley5.gif]

I think the yellow would set off your car real well. Post some picture of your custom made CAI when its all finished.

personally i think you should extend the factory polished aluminun look, maybe with some steel floor mats and grey seat covers. The grey on black is nice to the eyes, and it beats the overused black on white. And to be honest i think it might be a shock to some to open the doors of an all black neon to find the interior yellow. Unless thats the reaction your looking for.

Don't forget that you also need an SRT-4 shift **** and shift boot as well, to use the STS.[sm=smiley2.gif]
