Default pcv tube...??

Okay, so I went to rig up my cold air intake today, but I encountered a problem. What to do with that pcv tube? I think thats what it is anyways. It goes into the airbox right into a foam/sponge pad. Aside from that, I could of had something set up pretty quick. I just didn't have enough time to figure it out before I went to work. I did throw my K&N on instead of the stock filter, that made a huge difference. I'd like to see what a 60mm throttle body and more free flowing intake manifold would do to this car. Okay so correct me if I'm wrong about what I said earlier because i'm not too sure. Any suggestions on what to do with that?

You can do like one guy did on the other forum when he made the world's cheapest Oil Catch Can for his SRT-4.....he just let the tube from the PCV valve hang down towards the ground and let the excess oil drip out.....but I doubt you'll have that much blow-by oil...[sm=smiley16.gif]

I've seen some guys actually tie it into the exhaust on cars without cat. converters. This will provide a vacuum source to help pull the pressure from the case.

You could also get a fitting from the local parts store and tap the intake manifold and connect it there. This would be the most enviromentally friendly way of doing it.

Yeah, I looked at it earlier and there is hardly any oil at all. So should I get/make a catch can then? What would be the best thing to do?

Naw, an OCC isn't really necessary on your car...you can do the "right" thing like mopartodd said or do the "lazy" thing and "let it hang".....a drop or two of oil every 100 miles or so isn't going to "impact" anything, especially compared to the Mexican trucks coming up now from the border.....[:@]

Well I just want something easy to do with it, so then I can get that big, bulky, ugly, annoying, POS air box out of my way. LOL. How exactly would I tap it into the intake manifold? Any instructions on that or how-to?[sm=smiley25.gif]

The one you are refering to, I believe, does not come from the PCV valve. I think that the PCV valve vacuum hose goes straight into the intake manifold itself. This other hose that you are refering to can be eliminated and have a mini filter put on it or it can be T'd into the PCV hose letting the intake manifold provide the vacuum to remove the crank case gases from the engine.
