Quick Question
hi everyone im new here. i got an 05 neon so it has the full warranty still so i was wondering if there was anything i could do to make it faster without voiding my warranty. im not going to lie i honestly dont know crap about cars. it is a automatic if that makes a difference. thanks
I believe the 2005 has the NGC (next generation computer) which makes it difficult to mod. Any mods you put on there the computer will correct and make run like stock again. Again I don't know this for sure, but I have heard this. Besides in an auto, which are difficult to make quick anyway w/o spending alot of money.

i knew there wasnt a lot i could do since its an auto but i had no idea about that ngc thing you were talking about. would that basically mean that if i got a new exhaust system and cold air intake thaey would have an affect for only a lil while then go back to the stock performance.
is there a way to get past that? like is it a chip that i could take out or something? could the computer be reprogrammed? sorry about all the questions lol. i just want to get a lil better gas mileage and a lil more horses

The 03-05 has the NGC...but its not as doom and gloom as it sounds, you will still see gains from any of the mods you install, they just wont be as great as if they were installed on an 00-02. With that said, the only way around the NGC is either MS or a F/I application. Oh and there is no "hard" evidence, such as comparative dyno charts between cars that either prove or disprove the total gain killing effects of the NGC, its all speculation that takes into account what the NGC is supposed to do in theory.
