Why would he want to buy a first gen dsm? Yeah sure they are fast
Because you can find them for under $3000 all day long. Not only do you have a turbo car that comes w/ a 12 second 14B turbo (modded of course) but now you have a ALL WHEEL DRIVE platform. Why spend that kind of money just for the turbo setup alone?
Yeah but the car doesn't run 12s stock does it. When he can spend about 4 grand total and run 13 flat on 9psi boost I would like to see that on a dsm. I am not saying that dsms are bad hell I would love to have one but you can make a fast vehicle out of something else.

if thats the case then you need to convince the thousands and thousands of turbo owners from Neon SRT-4's to twin turbo Vipers that prefer the manual transmission. I've been racing turbo cars for over 4 years and unless you're going w/ a FULL, BUILT UP AUTO everyone will always prefer the MT over the AT.

umm....why don't you go back and read what I posted.

Look all I'm saying is for the money he wants to spend you could buy a 1st gen DSM w/ a factory Mitsubishi Heavy Industries turbo and AWD platform. But what the hell do I know I just club baby seals for a living...

Why don't you read what I posted I said that for the same amount of money that it would take to buy a stock dsm he could have his neon running 13 flat. A stock dsm could never run 13 flat.

I'm not arguing that point. All I'm saying is w/ that amount of money he wants to spend he can buy a complete car thats already equipped w/ a 12 second capable turbo and AWD. How many other cars can you think of that are sub $4000 that comes factory w/ a turbo and AWD? 1st gen DSM's are probably the best bang for the buck. There's no limit on how far you can go w/ a 1st gen.
