It's definetly a great turbo and you should truly benefit from it. Lower price though? I doubt it, I've been looking around and haven't seen a whole lot. Besides, if you do get it dirt cheap from some web site, who knows what condition it is in? Could be broken, refurbished, or stolen. Get it from a reputable site and save yourself the heartache. Or do what my buddy did to his 98 Neon and slap on a modified 13G turbo from Mits. Ran 13.7 in the 1/4 mile with only a few other modifications. Smacked the HELL outta his new SRT-4 too!

first of all, dont turbo charge an automatic car. Its gonna be expensive and it will cost even more money when you want to keep up w/ the faster cars. You can take that $2700 and buy a 1st gen DSM w/ AWD and turbo!

Actually you are airbrat you are far from right. Turbocharging an auto is about the best thing you can do. If he builds the auto which he will have to do eventually, he will be waxing 5spds all day long. With autos you don't lose boost like you would with a 5spd. Not to metion autos are a lot easy to drive and a lot more consistent in the 1/4 mile. When it comes to turbos a built auto will walk all over a built 5spd anyday all day.

Why would he want to buy a first gen dsm? Yeah sure they are fast but hahns racecraft built a first gen neon that ran 13.00 in the 1/4. That was with only 9psi boost, stock internal, a crane cam, underdrive pulley, and a little bit of lightening done to the car. Not to mention that it had an automatic. I would like to see a dsm run a 13 flat with only 9psi boost.

I completely agree assuming he is going w/ a "built" auto. But very rarely do I come across a daily driver that's made this way.

Because you can find them for under $3000 all day long. Not only do you have a turbo car that comes w/ a 12 second 14B turbo (modded of course) but now you have a ALL WHEEL DRIVE platform. Why spend that kind of money just for the turbo setup alone?

Even if it isn't built it is still gonna be faster then a 5spd. You don't lose boost when the tranny shifts like you do on a 5spd.
