Default More H-Power

Any one think it would be smart to go ahead and replace the Throttle Body ,Intake Manifold,Header, and get larger piping than factory with a Magflow ,and get an after market muffler? And all this to gain what i hope would be a lot of HP.All this for a 2000 neon ES.

rule of thumb is balance the amount of air comming and going out. If you put all those intake componts on, you won't gain much hp unless you have a good cam, exhuast manifold, no or hi-flow cat and a good muffler.

Be careful with the "aftermarket muffler"....if you lose too much back pressure, you'll lose low end power. Shop around for a "tuned" exhaust system for your car....

Or check out the R/T style exhaust.

To tell you the truth you are not going to gain much of anything without installing a cam. Here is the direction I would recomend taking:
1: Crane cam grind #12 (don't forget the springs)
2: AEM cam gear (same time as step one)
3: Iceman CAI or someother brand (Make sure its a CAI)
4: One of the catbacks (Pacesetter, borla, thermal R & D)
5: Header (pacesetter, Kirk racing, Borla, Stay far away from OBX)
6: High flow cat
7: Underdrive pulley
8: INDY intake manifold
9: Larger TB
10: Prothane motor mounts
11: MSD coil
12: Magnacor 8.5mm wires
13: NGK or Denso Iridium spark plugs
14: AFX computer

Any of those steps can be changed around to what ever you like but I highly recomend you do all those first before moveing on to the next step which is Turbo. Both Chill factor and Hahns make a turbo kit for you car. Both of them are great setups (most people seem to think the chill factor is better). If you ever get this far make sure you save the extra coin and get the intercooled kits.

Hope this helps!
