As much as I love my Neon, there isn't a new domestic car I'd buy right now.

For $15k or so I can get a Mazda 3s sedan (G-stock, same as the Neon). Not anything in that price range that'll come close to its performance (handling being a big consideration) here in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Going up to under $25k, I could be like my little brother and get a 300 HP Mustang GT (F-Stock), or get an RX-8 (B-Stock) that's a tad slower in a straight line but would run circles, figure 8's, and double back flips around that tank on a track where the steering wheel is used, and the SRT-4 (D-Stock) hasn't been a consideration for a while now...

Under $35k would be a tossup between the STi and the Evolution RS (both A-Stock), if only Subaru had an option to delete that ridiculous wing... the Charger R/T's slushmatic (not classed yet, but probably F-Stock with the 'Stang) wouldn't even turn my head...

Finally in the $45k range, the base Corvette is just a beautiful car. But so is the Lotus Elise (like the one for sale down the road)... And since we're now in SCCA Solo II Super Stock class, there's no need to go up in price any more...
