Where to get the thicker layer head gasket from?
Can I get it at autozone?
Can I just use the 00+ style from autozone?
Can I just use the stock style, with shaved down head bolts, just to retain the stock compression ratio?
Do I need any other gaskets?

Fel-Pro makes an MLS gasket for the Neon that can be picked up or special ordered at many local or on-line auto part stores. Their MLS brochure and application guide are on the Federal Mongul site at:

I think Dodge/Chrysler probably uses a different source for their MLS replacement gasket, so the dealer is another option.
