I know that the neon is rated to tow 1500 lbs, and I was going to buy a truck or van so I can haul the dirtbike. BUT with the funds I have couldn't find one that won't take alot more cash to get it road ready. SO I ordered a hitch from dodgepartspeople and then ordered a 4 x 8 trailer from harbor freights tools. With the bikes and trailer, the weight will approximatly be 600 lbs. MUCH CHEAPER than getting a beater vehicle.


I was wondering if anyone here ever towed with theirs? and what they thought.

 

only towing 600lbs, i wouldn't worry bout it.

 

i tow my quad and my jet ski with no problems at all.. go for it

i need to tow a 4dr sedan for about 500km's. is that doable / advisable with a 10yr old neon?

 

lets see...500km = roughly 400 or so miles? i wouldn't...even the base Neons weigh like 2300lbs... so i wouldn't do it.

 

im usually not towing with my neon, im usually towing my neon. you can pull a sedan but youll struggle like #ell until the popo pull you over.

 

i dont think i would feel comforatble towing anything with my neon......but the previous owner had a trailer hitch on it and the trailer wires were wired up in the trunk......luckily it was taken off when i got the car, otherwise i would have a hitch just sitting in the yard

 

Could you put the hitch on your truck?

What would happen if you attempted to tow a car with another car? Drive as slow as a moped on the highway, overheat engine?

 

well all depends on the type of car doing the towing...if u have a Tercel...good luck getting it going...Ford Crown Vic or something...u could do it pretty well...

 

like neoncrazy said it all depends on wat ur towin with i know someone that tows his impala with his other impala to every race and he races at least once a week and hasnt had problems
