how do i replace rear shocks on a 1998 dodge neon?

 

They are not shocks, they are struts. You will need a strut spring compressor, new struts and probably upper strut mounts. Remove the assembly from the car, compress the spring remove the upper mount. Place the compressed spring onto the new strut with the new upper mount. Secure the mount then release the spring. Re-install in car.
