Until a specialist jumps in - are you sure your Stereo supports USB (regardless of whether or not it has a port)? Some stereo's had the USB port even though the model didn't support it. Do you have an Owner's Manual?
My mom had an '08 Grand Caravan with U-Connect, I tried to upload a bunch of music from my IPod to the HDD in the thing right after she first got it and couldn't. Contacted the dealer who was clueless, so I kinda gave up on it.
About three months later, she gets a CD in the mail from Chrysler and a letter stating it was a "fix" for the UConnect and to just put the CD in and it would auto install the new operating system to the ROM, or you could bring the CD to your local dealer and they would install it for free.
So I stuck the thing in, pretty much auto-install, I think you had to acknowledge you were accepting all rights, risks, etc. and then hit a button when it was done, but anyway, afterwards, as soon as I'd plug in my IPod, the thing would auto recognize it and pull up a menu of my music and allow me to create folders on the HDD and copy my music to it.
So it's possible this one was never updated? Could maybe contact a local dealer who probably has the updated software...
