Default AFE Stage 2 PG7

I ordered my AFE Stage 2 with the Pro Guard 7 filter yesterday. Should be here Thursday or Friday. What are yalls thoughts on this intake? I've read about it being somewhat difficult to install due to some pieces not lining up correctly, but for the most part it is pretty straight forward. What kind of hp/tq/mpg gains have yall seen? Cant wait to hear that turbo sing even more now!

Got the stage 2 I think. Came with the truck. Love the turbo screaming like a jet engine.

I just installed the stage 2 on mine Monday. I got the same as you but I also got a pre-filter.The install is pretty simple. Takes about30 minutes max. The first thing I noticed is the turbo noise is LOUD. I personaly like the hell out of it sounding like a turbine engine, maybe b/c I work on them, maybe because it just sounds awsome. The turbo will spool up quite a bit faster and I think the power responce improvemnt is quite noticeable. As far as everthing else (egt drop, mpg gain or loss) I really dont have the miles on it yet to tell. I know As of know I am very happy with the nice look, performance gain, and sound. I think you will be glad you spent the money.

got it, love it, hogwash to the install complaints... takes about 20~30 minutes, the only part that's hard is 1 bolt closest to the fender... need 2 people to install it. the only thing is if you open up the exhaust too much you will loose fuel economy... about 1~1.5 mpg from my data. my setup was... AFE intake w/PG7 filter, ATS intake manifold, 30" magnaflow exhaust, and the TST box, averaged 14~15 mpg depending on the city/hiway mix, added the aero turbine muffler where the Cat originally was (missing with the above setup) and got back alot of low end torque and mileage went back up to 14.5~15.5 mpg on average. before the aero install, my best mileage was low 17's with the 33" tires on there, after the aero, I managed an 18.7 mpg on one run (all hiway), right before the winter fuel showed up.

hope this helps...

Well it came in earlier than expected. I got a hell of a deal from Garrett at Pure Diesel Power; great service and very friendly/helpful. I plan on getting more things from him in the future. Anyway, as soon as I got home I installed it. Steve is correct, I had a buddy of mine help with that one bolt closest to the fender. The install was easy - around 30 mins. This thing looks and sounds great. I cant wait to drive it more tomorrow. Here is a quick picture. I'll get more soon.

What did you get it for all together? I am interested in getting one, I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money.

I paid $375 shipped because they did the price match deal. I found it for $370.88 without shipping and asked them what they could do.

From what I am told from the hotrod diesel shops around here, the cummins will pull the oil out of the k&n filters. I would recommend the afe setup to everybody.

Ahh, good to know. I'm sure that wouldn't be good for it.
