Default Newbie w/ a question

Hi guys, I've been lurking here for a couple months since I've finally decided to get a CTD Anyway a little about me, I'm in the USAF, 14 years and change now, stationed in Utah. I have decided to buy a toy hauler trailerso I can take my toys to the desert and to car shows. So to pull a 13K lb trailer, I want/need a 3500 DRW Ram. Lurking around here I think I've decided an 03 HO 6 speed will suit me best. I don't need a 4X4, but it would be OK with me.
Problem is, it's damn new impossible to find one that fits the bill. I went and looked at an 01 DRW 6sp 2WD CTD today cause it was the first one I've seen for sale around here in months. It was a nice truck but had a few problems. The one that scares me is that when I took it for a drive, I got 1/2 mile and all of a sudden the power dropped way off and it wouldn't gain RPMs at all, no matter what gear it was in. I pulled over and shut it off for a minute, then started it back up.It seemed OK after that.It never blew any smoke at all, even when I floored it. It didn't seem like it had the power it should've though. I've ridden in an 01 CTD beforethat one had way more power than this one did. Could this be the fuel injection pump going bad?

yup. . .sounds like the lift pump is not puching enough fuel. . .if you are dead set on getting this one, first check for any codes, turn the key from off to on three times and it will cycle any codes that are stored in the ECM.

if you do happen to get this truck, get that lift pump changed out for something better ASAP.

Welcome Dave! Seems to be a large proportion of military types owning CTDs...

Check out eBay. I bought my CTD through eBay. (Actually I have purchased three vehicles through eBay)

Listings change regularly. You choices are even greater if your willing to travel or you could have the vehicle shipped to you.

2005 3500 in Utah
2003 3500 in AZ
2004 3500 in AZ

A second place to look is cars.com. Here are seven 3500s within 100 miles of Salt Lake City.

I took a pass on that truck, I got my sister-in-law looking in the DFW area for me. She sells used autos, and can search one out for me at dealer cost.
