well I did some reading and made some phone calls.
I currently have remote start and get 2 codes everytime I use it. wastegate code and a fan clutch code.

I called all of the car audio type places around and most of them wont install remote starts on a diesel. and the ones that do dont recomend it.

I read the same on the web.

So I had my dealer take it out and put it in the inside of my truck.
The tecjh said there was some wires that were unhooked and poor connections. He said that was probably the cause of the codes. He then said he hasnt seen a remote start on a dodge diesel work correctly and it was a good idea to remove it.

the system was a valet remote start system. the dealer had a loscal shop check it out and the starter is fine it was just installed wrong. so I will see if I cant sell it some how.

If that is the case than everyone in your area is an idiot. I have installed3 remote starts in my life, 2 in my old silveradoand one in my old '06 ram. It worked fine.

Can someone answer me if the vipers would have a delay restart. I have a 771 on my mini van, and I could have sworn one time I started it, let it run 12 minutes I believe it ran before turning off. then it started again. I do nto know how long it took to restart but can that be adjusted? I am looking for something to start every two hours and run 10-15 minutes.

Here is a link to the owners manual of your RS unit http://www.directeddealers.com/manua...567V_07-05.pdf. I looked through it and dont see that you can set it to run on its own (my code alarm used to let me set it to start at a certain temp, I would think viper would have something similar), only the duration of the run time.

Thanks, now if only it was on the truck and not the van[sm=confused06.gif]... Nah. easier to just buy a new unit then to hack into wires.
