Default Remote starter for diesel truck

How many of you have remote starters on your diesel trucks. I have a 2500 cummins, and I have a viper remote starter on it but it seems to be starting my truck without waiting for the light on the dash to turn off. Is this ok to do that or should I have the starter re-adjusted for diesel start-up?

some have programming to look for the WTS light to go out before they start the engine.

will it hurt things. . .no, but when it's cold it will be harder on the engine to fire off.

the factory remote start kit from chrysler waits for the light to go out, we also install a unit by audiovox that works the same way

I too have a Viper remote start installed, but it doesn't have a delay start feature either. I'd like to add one if possible. Do you have a contact number for Viper? I can't seem to be able to find one.

OK thanks. I'll get my model number and shhot em an email. I'm not optomistic though since that site looks like it's for their dealers and not the end user. We'll see ..

Thanks again !!

I have an AstroStart on mine (already installed when I bought the truck)and it's somehow tied into the WTS light. It waits up to 30 seconds after that light goes out before it starts.

I love the starter I have, it has great range and two way communication.

Just go to your local alarm or stereo shop and ask them to install a relay or a delay. They should be able to program it to wait for that light to turn off.

I have a Viper in my truck and there is a differant configuration of buttons to wait for the heat screen light to go out...with mine I have to push and hold the Aux for a second then I have to push the button with the horn on ittwice and it works, I can also start it like a regular car by hitting a differant button combo
