what gears do u guys think would be best for my truck? i have a '94 3500 dually thats turnin close to 400 HP, oh yeah and i already burnt out the original clutch so i put in a 400HP south bend clutch w/ a 13" flywheel conversion. i was thinkin about 4.88s. would this have any affect on the clutch?

your top speed will be about 70 mph and you will be running at a higher rpm than you need to unless this truck lives it's life pulling locomotives around. What is wrong with the current gearing?

3.54's. . .trust me. . .leave the rpm's low.

I like my 4.10's, but they give me hell on the highway, 2300rpm@70mph[:@]

94. . .I believe you have a NV4500HD. . .at that RPM range you have 4.10's in your Dana's

to make sure you will have a data plate on the axle that will tell you the gearing.

aright, thanx, so 3.73s or maybe 3.54s like u have might help out?? im not real sure about what to put in, if anything?? she has a good bit of power now, but she does rev a little too high, i would like to make her a little quicker off the start though but if i put 3.54s or 3.73s then she would be a little slower, right??

the only ratios availabel were 3.54's and 4.10's.

if you went to 3.54's you would go faster, however your acceleration would take a slight hit.

If you want to put out about $3,500 - $4,000 you can get a "Gear Vender Overdrive installed". You had better plan on keeping it for 4 or 5 years to payout the cost. I have one and they are great. I have 3.54 rear gears and with the gear vendor eng., I'm turning 1,500 RPM @ 70 MPH, with a 4.10 you will turn about 1,740 RPM @ 70 MPH

aright, thanxs again, but i think that i will probly end up just leaving it like it is, if i spent that amount of money then i would rather spend it on a turbo upgrade, thanxs for the info though, i didnt even know that there was a gear vendor overgdrive
