Stupid question.
Other than easyer oil change why would you want the cast aluminum covers?
When your offroad and catch a rock or a stump instead of just denting a steel cover that aluminum cover is going to shatter and dump all your oil on the ground and leave you with exposed gears.
I'm not critizeing you I just want to know why.

This is the tow rig for my rock crawler, I dont take it 4 wheeling...and if I did youd have to hit something pretty hard to break one of these. The reason I went with them is the amount of added fluid the diffs have now and the aluminum will run cooler, I drive 100+ miles aday and want to get as much life out her as possible...Iam still blown away by the drain plug and the dip stick tho, who would of ever thought theyd be on diff covers hehehe

A little mill work and tig work and they will be good to go.

Bore two holes and tig in two pipe nipples.
For the dip stick drill a hole through a pipe plug and tig a rod through it.
$1.75 worth of parts and 45 min of my time and its done.
