Two of the map apps I used to work on the programs said that they bought all the sat images from a French company and they didn't like it when I was tootling around the software and found Google on their images.

The other thing that is kinda cool is my wife is Biologist with Auburn U. She is doing all the satellite mapping for the entire SE United States, so if I REALLY want a good image, I can always have her pull up stuff from the super cool guy sat's.

not long ago we did one that was an 8 parter that goes around Stone Mountian.

we use it to show the general trails and area of our desert routes when the bajas go off roading.
google earth is very nice!
it does have its draw backs of out dated pics as afore mentioned. guessin you have to pay for the upgrade to get the good stuff [sm=confused06.gif]
